Difficult times have arrived in the form of corona virus and COVID-19. Although we all know that social distancing is essential, being under a lockdown in the house is becoming increasingly tough for some people. But why should it be so? There are so many ways with which we can happily spend time inside our houses. Earth’s Wisdom is going to share today a few such ways with our readers.
If you haven’t been exercising so far, start it now as this is the right time to do that. As you are not supposed to meet anyone, you can turn this opportunity into a beneficial one by focusing while exercising. Remember, the more focused you are while exercising, the more beneficial the exercise will be. You don’t need to have any costly, fashionable or hefty exercise equipment. While under a lockdown, run around your house or on a single spot, bend forward and backward, turn your waist while keeping your hands spread out or do any actions that you love. And if you want to lift weights, you don’t need actual weights; various objects in your home that you can hold in your hands can also do the job. Just make sure you don’t injure yourself.
72% of Americans have their homes full of things they never use, according to a 2016 survey. This means that if they remove those things, they’d get more space to live and move. Another observation says that 41% of people in the same group haven’t yet removed those things. This may be due to the fact that they were busy in their work. If you are among them, isn’t being under a lockdown a great opportunity to de-clutter your home as you don’t have to go for work?
This lockdown period is stressful and you’ve to struggle to keep your mood elevated.
Vitamin D3 and ashwagandha are two natural supplements that have been gaining popularity for their potential mood-boosting benefits.
Vitamin D3, also known as the sunshine vitamin, is produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight. It is also found in certain foods, such as fatty fish and fortified dairy products. Vitamin D3 plays a crucial role in many bodily functions, including bone health and immune system function. However, research has also suggested that vitamin D3 may play a role in regulating mood.
Several studies have found a correlation between low levels of vitamin D3 and symptoms of depression. One study showed that people with depression had lower levels of vitamin D3 compared to those without depression. Another study found that taking vitamin D3 supplements improved mood in people with low levels of the vitamin.
Ashwagandha is an herb commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is known for its ability to reduce stress and anxiety levels. Ashwagandha is believed to work by reducing cortisol, a stress hormone that can have negative effects on the body and mind.
Several studies have shown that ashwagandha supplements can help reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress, which are often experienced during a lockdown. In one study, participants taking ashwagandha supplements reported significant reductions in anxiety levels compared to those taking a placebo.
While both vitamin D3 and ashwagandha show promise for elevating mood, it's important to note that they should not replace prescribed medications for mental health conditions. It's always a good idea to talk to a healthcare provider before starting any new supplements, as they may interact with other medications or have potential side effects.
Reading is a very good hobby, especially during a lockdown. Not only do we get information and entertainment from a book, but also we never do feel alone when we have books, because the authors are talking to us in the form of the books. So, if you’re missing your friends, reading is a great solution. If you have only a few books in your home, read them again; you’ll be pleasantly surprised to get new findings. And if you have the internet at hand, you have an access to countless books. Getting new knowledge every day, you’ll feel as if your head has been cleaned and lit up.
There may be numerous things you haven’t tried so far while under a lockdown. Cooking, washing clothes, cleaning floors, watering plants, any other gardening chore, clearing cobwebs, getting your questions answered on the internet, and lots of things can be done, and you’ll find them amazing, because they will refresh you.
In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have presented us with unique challenges, but they also offer opportunities for personal growth and transformation.
